Six Sigma Talent | WIX Web Design

Intro

I served as lead designer on a bilingual website project for a Japan-based recruitment agency that previously relied on PDFs to communicate with potential clients. They needed a modern, user-friendly website to establish credibility and capture new leads. Collaborating directly with the CEO, we used Wix Studio to deliver a fully responsive site in just one month, balancing localization, fast execution, and thoughtful design under a tight deadline.

Research & Discovery

I collaborated with the company's CEO to understand their business priorities, target audience, and the key functionalities they needed for the website. My team and I also researched competitors in the recruitment industry and found their websites to be overly lengthy and overwhelming for users seeking quick information. We recommended a concise, user-friendly design that encouraged users to schedule an appointment for more details, aligning with the client’s goal of creating a modern and efficient online presence.

Here are some of the clients competitors:

Wireframes & Planning

With the insights from competitor research and the client’s goals in mind, I began creating wireframes for a simple, modern website that was clean, concise, and straight to the point. The wireframes were intentionally designed to capture the audience’s attention with less information upfront while encouraging users to reach out for more detailed discussions. This approach set the website apart from their competitors by prioritizing clarity and usability over excessive content.

The wireframes outlined a streamlined user journey, ensuring that key information was easily accessible without overwhelming the visitor. Each page was carefully planned to maintain a balance between minimalism and functionality, reflecting the client’s desire for a fresh and professional online presence.

Design Process

With a tight timeline, we had to make swift yet thoughtful design decisions. For typography, we used Inter for body text and Space Grotesk for titles—fonts from the client’s sales deck. While modern and widely appreciated in design circles, they were uncommon in the client’s industry, making the design feel fresh. Their compatibility with Japanese text was also crucial for the bilingual project.

To ensure brand consistency, we also matched the colors and style to the sales deck. Since the client had no existing website, this approach helped establish a cohesive and polished visual identity.

Collaboration was key, especially for localization. While I don’t speak Japanese, my team ensured accurate translations and addressed typography nuances like line breaks, spacing, and visual flow. This allowed the Japanese pages to maintain the same usability and appeal as the English version.

Final Deliverables

I designed a total of six responsive pages—three in English and three in Japanese—optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile to ensure a seamless user experience across all devices.

Conclusion

The project was a resounding success. Both the client and Wix were very happy with the final website. Wix had specifically hired us to design the client’s website as part of showcasing the capabilities of Wix Studio, even interviewing our CEO about using the platform to meet the quick timeline.

The responsive website, featuring dual-language pages, was delivered on time and exceeded expectations. The client particularly appreciated the simplicity of the design, the thoughtful use of colors and typography, and the smooth scroll animations that added a polished, professional touch. The result was a modern, user-friendly website that aligned perfectly with the client’s needs and set them apart from their competitors.
